Chelsea Novak was born and raised in Fort St. John, B.C. and has since moved around B.C. and Alberta like she’s trying to fill some kind of bingo card. She has a B.A. from the University of Alberta, where she majored in English and minored in Creative Writing, a Certificate of Magazine Publishing from Capilano University, and a Masters of Journalism degree from the University of British-Columbia.
She has worked as an editor at Geist magazine, as a journalist for Black Press in Castlegar and Rossland, B.C. and as an editor at Vue Weekly in Edmonton before it ceased publication. She was a co-founder of the ill-fated Daze Magazine and has done some freelance journalism.
She currently lives in Edmonton with her husband and daughter, and she is working on her first novel with support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
